All We Have Is Today by Michelle Wulfestieg is an inspirational and metaphysical book that describes the strength, faith, and perseverance of 11-year-old Michelle, in the face of a tragic event. Young Michelle experiences a devastating stroke that leads to a diagnosis of an inoperable lesion in her brain, requiring painful radiation treatments and resulting in partial paralysis. Determined to move forward, this is the story of Michelle’s journey of discovering her purpose and making her life full of hope and meaning. Well written, compelling, and inspirational, I could not put this book down.
As someone who has experienced health issues, I found Michelle’s strength inspiring, and her perspective beautiful. Michelle has nothing but faith and love to offer to her friends, her family, her colleagues, herself, and all those who read this book. Her courage will give you courage, and it will inspire anyone and everyone to live their lives to the fullest. On a personal level, I couldn’t believe that she shared so much of her personal life with total strangers, but I am beyond grateful. It is Michelle’s honesty and vulnerability that really makes this book so inspirational.
I highly recommend this book to anyone suffering with a health issue, disability, or any hardship that appears in their life. Michelle’s humor, bravery, humility, and vulnerability is relatable and moving. I’d also recommend this book to anyone interested in spirituality and faith, as with most tragedies, faith is always intertwined. I laughed, I cried, I felt like I was there with Michelle for the whole journey and was moved to live my life with nothing but humility, laughter, and appreciation.
All We Have Is Today by Michelle Wulfestieg is a must-read and an absolute necessary addition to your library shelf, your heart and soul, and your personal growth.
