Book Review: ‘Taurus, Taurus, Taurus’ by G.J. Rayner & E. M. Rayner

Taurus, Taurus, Taurus: Genetic Modification Held for Ransom by G.J. Rayner and E. M. Rayner begins when scientist, Dr. Gambil, blows up the ABBA lab because of government interference, questioning his ability and methods on genetic modification. taurustaurustaurusGambil, who is believed to have died in the explosion, resurfaces eleven years later demanding a ransom of fifty million dollars from ABBA, with the threat to destroy their entire operation if his demands are not met.

Intelligence analyst Joe Garner resigned from his national security position with the U.S. government because his boss wanted him to alter his report on Kyrgyzstan, Asia, regarding the political stability of its ethnic minority. Garner joins OMICRON, a private security service to lead their current investigation for a client who provides top quality bull sperm. This company, ABBA, had developed a genetically enhanced sperm to produce better quality cattle.

ABBA discovered unauthorized individuals who somehow infiltrated their location in Argentina, holding a syringe containing an unknown substance. They found that these individuals were from the area of Kyrgyzstan, but did not know the intentions of the individuals. While Garner investigates the Argentina situation, ABBA is the victim of another attack, this time in Kenya, so Garner decides to reinforce all security in ABBA’s Kansas location.

The authors did a remarkable job developing this thrilling plot, which got my attention from the very beginning and held it through the end. This well-written, fast-paced story is filled with action and intrigue, taking the reader on a thrilling ride. Its current topic was not only interesting, it made me wonder if this could actually happen in today’s world. The authors’ writing style is impeccable, which made the story flow into a very fast read as well.

In all, the science was believable, the characters realistic, and the book was impossible to put down. I definitely recommend all thrill-lovers to pick up Taurus, Taurus, Taurus by G.J. Rayner and E. M. Rayner and rate it a Five-Star read!
